I would adopt every single animal that had the misfortune of suffering, in any form. No animal deserves to suffer without the chance to know true love from us. This story about Joyce brought tears to my eyes but has a happy ending. :)
If I had the means, I would have a sanctuary for homeless and abused fur babies. So if you think about it...the next time you want to bring a furry friend into your life, checkout the shelters first. Please? :)

There is nothing more cockle-warming than the smile of a dog. Joyce's put joyful teardrops on my keyboard as I watched her happily ever after unfurl. Doggies, I love you. Thank you so much for sharing a story that shows at first how much they need us, and then how much we need them.
Agree, agree, agree. Wish I could adopt them all.
I love happy endings.:)
Definitely a happy ending!! What a sweet dog!
You have such a beautiful heart...
Thank you so much for posting this kind of story. Even with a happy ending I still couldn't watch. Animals stories just tear me up. My husband and I are too close to the subject, you see we take care of approximately 50 unwanted and feral cats. Several of these cats were abandoned in the rural area we live in to fend for themselves. Fortunately we were able to find them before they starved to death or were eaten by coyotes. Some of them have been beaten, I will spare you the details, believe me it is obvious. We now are an official charity called The Lucky Few. (theluckyfew.org). I would love to have you check us out. My other job is an event designer and on my web site I have a very fun blog where I talk about lovely things, not just events. Several of the stories are cat related (called cat tales). Check that out for some happy endings and very cute faces! (www.triciafountainedesign.com click on the blog button). Thank you for posting this kind of story, there are so very many animals that need a loving home, so many more that there are people to adopt them, and each and every one of them is a dear sweet animal that would give you all the love in the world if given half a chance.
The shelters are so full of lovely animals, I couldn't agree more. If you want a pet, please check out your local shelter first.
Lovely story with a great ending!
