A little horsing around and relaxing this weekend.

Okay, first of all we relaxed a little this weekend as you can see Emma demonstrating on the deck.

I went to a new stable (where my friend Debbie takes her horse riding lessons) and met a few new horses. This is Fargo. :) I also met Donna, Deb's instructor who I may start taking lessons from.

This is sweet, sweet, Louie. He even posed for me. :)

This is Debbie training for her first dressage competition this weekend.

And later Deb and I took a nice leisurely horse ride. Of course I'm always behind Debbie so she doesn't see how much I allow Ari to eat. LOL! Really, it is a bad habit and I need to break that. :) I can't help but to spoil ALL furry friends. :)

Isn't this trail gorgeous? It was a new trail for me.

The weekend went way too fast but I loved every minute of it! Monday, here I come!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Daydreaming of the beaches back home in California....

Oh and I got five inches of hair cut off today! I was so dang hot with all that hair. I needed something summery and bouncy. Ahhh...relief. :) Oh ignore the background mess. This is the part you never see but this is the only way I could show you my new cut! Lol!

Oh and Quincy is relaxing this weekend as well. :)

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend so far!! :)

Chocolate Chip Drop Biscuits and YAY it's Friday!!

Okay everyone! DANCE your hearts out!

It's Friday!!

I know this was a short week but man Friday took forever to get here. Probably from being spoiled from the long Memorial Day weekend and oh yes, fond memories of cleaning my closet. I wanna do it all over again but this time with the garage! I am SO looking forward to it, I can't even tell you. ;) Sunday I have plans to meet my friend Debbie's horse instructor and hopefully go for a horse ride!

Last night I had a craving for something sweet after looking at all these scone recipes on different blogs so I ran to the kitchen to dig out what ingredients I had to maybe make some but to my disappointment I didn't have everything. HOWEVER, I did have my good 'ol trusty box of Bisquick. :) So, I took care of my craving and made quick Bisquick drop biscuits and added chocolate chips. Does it seem like I'm always adding chocolate chips to almost everything I make? Lol! What can I say...I'm a chocolate chip sort of gal. ;)

Bisquick Chocolate Chip Drop Biscuits
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick mix
1/2 cup milk
3 Tbsp sugar
3 Tbsp butter or margarine melted
1 cup chocolate chips
Stir Bisquick mix, milk, 3 Tbsp sugar and the butter until soft dough forms. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake: 10-12 minutes or until golden brown at 425 degrees.
Serve hot and with more butter! Enjoy on a lazy Saturday morning :)

Are you Crazy 4 Candles?

Well I am! If I can keep from burning the house down. LOL. I am definitely buying some candles soon and from where you ask? A new company owned by my friend Bryan called Crazy 4 Candles! Bryan has started his own company and not just candles but so many adorable things I can't show you right now. He's just setting up shop and he has finally finished his website, dedicated to candles, called Crazy 4 Candles! These are just a few items that he features.

Now you all know I'm getting this one!

And this one...maybe for a summer deck? Oh! It comes in other colors as well!

And how about the smell of fresk baked sugar cookies in your kitchen without the hassle of cooking?

Or fresh baked apple pie? Oh my!

If you want to see more please feel free to swing on over to Crazy 4 Candles for the best deals this side of the Mississippi! Okay, I've always wanted to say that. He's always got some great deals going though and these are actually very reasonable prices compared to a lot of stores!

Have fun shopping!

The mind of a cat....

Okay mom...this closet looks okay but still needs a little work. How about I just lay here and tell you what needs fixin'. Let's see, we need another pile of clothes to play on...an empty box to hide in....some shoes on the floor to lay our heads in. Come on mom, chop, chop! Get to it!

Mocha? Mocha, where are you? Oh right...you're still kneading...and kneading...

How about you go outside for awhile and play?

Who? Me? I have a job mom!

And that's KNEADING! Knead, knead, knead...I mean seriously...I have knead marks on my belly because she finds the need to knead my belly. Is that a sign that I have a pudgy belly? Noooooo!! Mocha is currently training for the world record of the most kneading.

I think she'll win the gold medal.

Memorial Day Stuff and My New Header!

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great holiday weekend and a wonderful Memorial Day (of remembrance). I spent my whole day cleaning out my closet. It was a little scary. Had to hold either side of the closet entrance to keep from that huge tornado-like wind from sucking me into that huge pile of clothes the cats have been playing in and eating me up! I got everything in control and went through 8 loads of laundry (yes, 8 loads...hi my name is Michelle and I'm a shopaholic). I wanted to get through the garage but didn't make it. I was too dang exhausted after cleaning my closet. Who would have guessed it would take me all day! Guess what? I have five new outfits I didn't know about. Pathetic, huh? Lol!

My good friend Bryan and I did get around to some cooking but I can't give you the recipe. It's a family secret...all I can say is it was delicious!

First I wanted to show you something I bought several weekends ago at an antique shop. Only $5.99!

A table ready for baking. I was going to bake something but the closet took every ounce of energy I had in me.

Cooking some good food...

Also! How do you like my new header? My graphic designer and good friend, Marie, did it yet again! She made me exactly what I wanted. She really is amazing with her wonderful creations. If you are interested in employing her to make a fun header for you her rates are a flat rate $100 for two mock ups and 3 hours of work and then $25.00 an hour after that. She's so good and she really does a quick job! Please feel free to let me or Marie know (her email is zelmar1027@gmail.com) if you're interested! She's a wonderful artist so if you haven't already been there, please checkout her blog, The Play of Light and Shadow, when you have a chance! In fact, she's got a giveaway going on right now!
Until tomorrow...

You know it's Spring when....and Memorial Day Remembrance

Kittens start taking over! Tis the season. Our first kitten arrivals at the shelter. :)

Yes kids, mommy still thinks you are the cutest!

Also, Mocha is doing much better. Her coat is all fluffy again, I think she's gained weight and she still has a hefty appetite! I'm happy. :) When mommy is happy, Mocha is happy. :)

Happy Memorial Day all...let's take a moment to remember all those heroic men and women who fought for our freedom. Sometimes we can take it for granted if we're not on the front lines or have a family member who is on the front line (heck the back line too). I look around and realize how much freedom I have compared to some others...and to think someone died for my freedom is overwhelming to think about. Thank you to all our men and women who provided us this gift of freedom.
P.S. Please bear with me as I test a new header. Us Geminis can never be satisfied for long before we need change! LOL! I can't get the dang thing centered. Waiting for my graphic artist to help. :)

Signs of Spring!

We're having WONDERFUL weather here this weekend. I'm supposed to be doing my Spring cleaning but I'm also doing everything to avoid it. LOL! For today's post I wanted to show you some pictures that my friend Tami's husband, Ken Daw, took this past week! Ken is an amazing photographer! I told Tami she needs to get him to print and sell these. Take a look for yourself! :)

Hope you enjoyed taking a peek at Spring. Yay! We have another day off...and I still have to clean. ;)
All photographs property of Ken Daw. Please DO NOT copy!

Pies without the calories! How brilliant!

I've always wanted one of these...

Always filled with these...
But don't want to gain these...I found the perfect solution! GO FAUX! I found this wonderful website that makes faux desserts! I thought about having a pie cupboard filled with these beauties since it's probably not practical to always have the pie cabinet filled with the real thing. I would gain 10 lbs a day! So, these seemed to be the perfect solution! I know, I know, it may make you hungry but if you're lazy like me, I will just stare at them rather than make them. :)

I mean how adorable are these?

How about this sitting in your window?

Maybe just a slice of chocolate or strawberry cake on a small pedestal...

If you want to see more wonderful and amazing faux desserts in addition to the above, the website is called LeeLees Creations. There's so much more to look at to fill your pie cupboard! I plan to purchase some of these so that I can keep my pie stand always filled with something delicious. I can't promise you, though..I may take a bite out of one even if it isn't real! Enjoy!!

Happy Friday!
