Fresh Sugar Snap Pea Saute!

After about five days of picking I was able to gather enough of my fresh sugar snap peas off my deck garden to make this wonderful vegetarian saute that my mother taught me while she was here visiting. It doesn't look like much but believe me, it is SO delicious and such a perfect dish for summer!

Fresh picked peas...

And into the frying pan they go. It's very easy. I sauteed diced onions in a little butter and olive oil until brown, then I added the peas (you can use frozen peas) and the sugar snap peas. Add a little salt and pepper and let it cook until done or at least how well done you like them. :)

Then serve over white or brown rice. I used jasmine rice that I bought at Trader Joes.

Enjoy and happy summer eating!

Oh Michelle I am so sorry lil Mocha is sick. I will be praying for her(and you). It is so hard when the ones we love are not well. We have grown to love Lily so much that our 'idea' of her being an outside cat has disappeared. We now want her to be an indoor cat where she will remain safe.

Hurray for all your peas! Peas are my favorite thing to grow(snow peas and sugar snap) I have to grow them at end of summer when it cools down or end of winter before it gets hot. I stir fry mine with olive oil and soy sauce and serve over rice too! But I like to eat them right off the plant too. They make a great snack.

AND I LOVE your new blog look. I think it suites you better. I was tiring of the other. It goes well with your vintage pin up girls!!

Love you sweets. oxox

One more thing...

I meant for your to be a pet photographer for a side job. But maybe that could be part of your pet sitting job:) Or maybe you can do both.

Those wonderful peas shining in the pan look like a snappy-beautiful necklace you're frying up! Tastey, too, I bet!

P.S. Trader Joe's is grand, isn't "he"! (I wish I could marry him! lol) Have you had "his" Candy Cane Joe Joes? They are a Christmas tradition at my house. They are sinfully good!

You know what, I just saw a recipe for string beans cooked in olive oil and tomatoes. Yum!

Your recipe looks easy and delicious as well.
