Container Beets

Yep, this is the new addition to my container garden this Spring. Beautiful, aren't they? I love beets and I thought this Spring I will plant something new and exciting in my deck garden. I'm starting my Spring cleaning, including the deck, and have my list of veggies and herbs I want to grow. I thought they could use a new friend. :) So, here's to new friends and a new victim for my palate!

Got any new friends in your garden this Spring?

Beets remind me of my Grandmother who used to pickle beets with a hard boiled egg. I loved that purple-y pink egg. Yum! Good luck with your garden.:)

It is SO cool that you grow so many nify things in your container garden! It drives me nuts when ppl say, "Oh, I can't grow my own veggies because I don't have a garden"...I should send them to your blog and tell them how you are growing the best things in planters on your patio.

My pick this year is rutabaga...don't laugh! ;D

xoxoxo to you and the kitties (and especially Mr. Quincy, of course)!

After the mini-heat wave here in LA breaks, I'm going to clean out all my containers and put in fresh soil, something I haven't done in about 5 years. First to get planted will be the herbs, then a yellow mini pear tomato and I'm not sure what after that. Maybe some Blue Lake bush beans, gold zucchini or orange beets. Love beets!

Thanks for sharing Michelle. :) I've been enjoying your blog for almost a year now and this is my first comment. I'd love to see photos of your container garden as I'm wanting to start one myself.

Thanks for adding smiles to my days. :)
