Here's a YouTube video I found if you want to torture yourself. Lol!
Also! Saturday after our yoga retreat, Thea, Michelle, Anne and I went back home and had a BBQ with the rest of Thea's family and made this AWESOME black bean burger. I didn't take pictures (sorry) but I guarantee you will enjoy this recipe.
Black Bean Burgers
12 oz. can black beans, rinsed
1 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
1 large egg1/2 cup diced red onion
1/2 cup fresh or frozen corn
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
oil for frying
In large mixing bowl, mash together beans, breadcrumbs and egg. Add onion, corn, garlic, salt, cumin and chili powder. Mix well and form into six balls of equal size. Flatten to 1/2 inch thickness. Heat oil in frying pan. Add burgers and cook each side for 2-3 minutes. Serve on whole-grain bun with lettuce, tomato and condiments of your choice.
Instead of the wheat buns we got that artisan bread from Safeway, the cheese and jalapeno bread, heated it up and sliced into squares and had the black bean burgers on those with onions, lettuce, avocado, tomato....they were SO GOOD!
I will be drawing my Christmas Giveaway winner tomorrow! Stay tuned!

Oh that is so funny, hey love the pic of your cat.
I like a lot from the 70's, "knock on wood" is fun, I love 10cc's "dreadlock holiday".
xxx
Dear Michelle,
So glad you had such a wonderful weekend! Many lovely songs in the 70's - I wonder what you think of Tom Jones? He's still big in Vegas, I hear... ladies throw their underwear at him all the time!! lol
xxxLOL LOLA:)
btw glad you enjoyed the fun at the Awards party over at my place! It's still going strong - must be all that copious champagne + gorgeous company too... ! lol xx
PS Must try yr black bean burger recipe - sounds yummy...!
I agree with you on EH, he was hot! And I remember that David Soul song too, very nice! I also loved Tom Jones, I remember watching his show with my Mom, his songs still get to me! And don't forget Bobby Sherman! Thanks for the memories!
Your funny...my fav.song was.....I think I love you,by none other than my teen hearthrob David Cassidy, ohhh, the good old days!! Thanks for coming by,always happy to see a note from you, talk soon!!0x0x0x
I still love Tom Jones songs, watched him perform the other night at Glastonbury festival. I always feel slightly embarrased saying that I like his songs, but he really is a great performer.
I left a tag on my blog for you, if you want you can pick it up.
I think Emma was just spooked by something else, because it could not have been your voice! =)
After the Loving was a very sweet song; I admit to liking it too!
Thanks for the black bean burger recipe! I'm trying to add more veggie meals to our menu, and this sounds like a great dish to try!
xo
I loved (and still do) Brandy by Looking Glass. Your Englebert song is pretty cool, too!
Lol!!! Good ole Englebert! He was my mom's fav so I remember listening to him forever! My favorite...hmmm...anything by David Cassidy, Osmonds, England Dan and John Ford Coley, and Bread and so many more unnamed... great post-
Boy, I haven't heard this one in ages! What a romantic!
The black bean burgers sound tasty!
Either I'm just the least observant person on earth, or it's been longer since I've caught up on my blog reading then I thought, but, has your blog background changed? I love the polka dots - it's very fun and retro.
Love this recipe. Black bean burgers are amongst my faves.
I LOVE black bean burgers!
And you're welcome for dinner any time!
Engelbert Humperdinck and bean burgers are two things I can live without! But I still love ya!! BTW did you notice you're my #1 stalker? haha! Take a look at my sidebar if you don't know what I'm talking about.
I sing to my cats too. Oscar listens but Molly always runs.
The 70's, hmm, long time ago. I think I liked The Moody Blues, Van Morrison. No particular song.
I acrually prefer music from the 80's.
Fonder memories I guess.
The burgers sound yummy! But alas, I am a Motown kinda gal.:)
Those burgers sounds great, have to try that recipe! Ooh, 70's sings, that a hard one! Right now Love Will Keep Us Together is in my mind. When I was a little girl, I thought that she was repeating "olive, olive" instead of "I will, I will, I will"! It's always been about food! :-)
Oh, I can't wait to try that. I have been looking for some great black bean recipies. Can't wait to try this one!
