Behind, behind, behind!

I've been so behind on everything lately. I feel as though I can never get caught up. Do you ever feel that way? Work, friends, paying attention to my furry babies at home, horseback riding, volunteering.....and then my blogs! I am falling behind on reading blogs (apologies again everyone if I haven't visited often enough). Then there are things I still have to finish. Like the smock I started. Um, when did I even start that? A month or so ago? Why did I stop? Because I couldn't figure out how to string the thread through the bobbin right. I have piles of junk mail yet to be rifled through and thrown away (what a waste of paper). And still. Still, I keep buying books from The Goodwill, albeit cheap, just to add to my library of books that still have yet to be read. I need to hire a personal organizer. No, I don't...I need to learn how to get organized! My mother was such an expert at it and she tried over and over again to teach me how to be organized and yet, here at 42, I sit in my bed, three books laying to the right of me and two on the left, laundry thrown on the floor of my wonderfully humongous closet and my cell phone is somewhere in this pile of down comforter. Until someone calls, I'm sure I won't be able to find it...just like I can't find my keys half the time when I'm ready to go somewhere! Why, oh why does it only happen when you're ready to go somewhere? Then the cats have to watch me frantically look for my keys and every once in awhile turn to them and ask them where my keys are. I'm sure they've hidden the keys from me just to watch me go crazy. Like a mean trick because I didn't give them enough treats or something. Will someone call me so I can find my phone? Oh and I don't even want to tell you what my desktop looks like on my laptop. It looks like a mad person's computer. Oh when will I ever get organized?

If you have ideas, let me in on the secret or at least tell me I'm not alone in this unorganized thing called "my life." In the meantime, I have dedicated to reading at least one chapter a night on all these books I've started collecting years ago. Okay, well....that's a start, right? I'm trying to make an effort. That's good, RIGHT? That's right, nod your head and just agree with me. ;)

And we'll start with.....The Maidenstone Lighthouse. I love, romance, intrigue, history..and well a good haunt is always a fun addition.

Thanks for letting me vent. I feel much better! :)

Oh Michelle, when you find the secret let me know. I think I have that same stack of books by my bed..just finished "Body Surfing" by Anita Shreve, but the mail still sits, dishes to be done and notes to write.. just take care of it like eating an elephant...one bite at a time.

Is there room in that boat for me? I'll usually start to purge and store out of shear desperation. Yeah. I'm almost there.

I like the Planner Pad - it lets me see clearly when I need to carve out more time - as for clutter - i end up throwing out junk without opening it.

I try not to worry too much anymore these days. I just want to spend as much time as possible with my teens before they are gone. The laundry always seems to eventually get done. I seem to get more motiviated to do it when someone shouts "Ma, I'm outa underwear!!" I love to collect books and figure I have at least a good 40 plus years to get to all of them. I have turned my kids into book collecters also....They are more excited about having a wall of books than a wall of electronics...Yipee!!

I am a list maker. Who to call, where to go, what to buy, what to do. Of course that dosen't manage all the clutter I collect. I bet our cats just sit back, pretending to be asleep, and laugh at us more than a couple times a day. As we know, cats are just so purr-fect (right!) Hugs, Kathleen

Hi Michelle~ Vent away- that's what we're all here for! I hear you- I swear "stuff" reproduces in the night when no one is lookig and then creeps around the house getting in the way. If you find a way that works for you- please let us in on it- you are not alone with this problem!!! Take care!

vent away, take a break, chill out, sleep away the day sometime soon and then you'll be re-charged and ready to go! and if that doesn't work, learn to love being un-organized, lol!

Are there really 24 hours in a day, and if so, where do they all go so quickly? I know how you feel, as your doing so many wonderful things all at once, it feels like you simply do not have enough time to do a lot of other equally wonderful things... I expect we will learn one day, but in the mean time just enjoy having a lot of interests...
My mother despaired of teaching me how to be organized, and she really did try, bless her, she has now given up, it is an art form I will never learn.
But somehow, it always all shakes out, as I am sure it does for you too, so do not worry too much about it.

Personally I'm grateful for closets. They make it possible for me to pretend I'm organized! Just stand back when you open them!!
I vent to my dogs all the time...
they don't try to " fix" me!!
Just consider your books decorations until you get the chance to read them!!

When you find that magic fix to make you organized, please share it with me! I don't know what happened to make me such a disorganized mess. ☺ diane

I feel the same day. Every day I wake up and feel like I'm on a treadmill until I fall over.

I'm hypothetically organized, but in real life, I'm in constant panic mode and can't find a thing: just like you! :) I think it takes supreme will power to be organized. Good luck to you...I've certainly not got that kind of will-power.

Enjoy your reading!

(*giggle* about you thinking your kitties hid your keys!)

I am nodding and agreeing with you. Does that help? I always carry my keys in my pants pocket. I am lost if I don't have a pocket. So if I can't fine my keys, I look in the last pair of pants I wore. I hear you are the getting behind stuff. My house is a disaster. I can't seem to get my rear going to work on it. Behind on paper piling up, book reading, newspapers, sewing projects, craft projects. You name it I am behind on it. Maybe if I took a month off from work I would finally get caught up. But can't do that. Can't afford to do that. Oh well....

I LOVE to organize!!! Once, I organized my friend's linen closet and found myself getting very bossy, saying, 'what's this doing in here??' and, 'Store the things you don't use often on the top, and things you use everyday on eye level...' There's some tips for you! That 'tea' book looks good. Your weekend of lounging and readin sounds good to me.
