HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

Mom, on her wedding day. A portrait of a beautiful bride.

This is a special post for me today. Today (actually the 12th) is my mom's birthday. She's 30. She's been 30 for the last several years. ;) My mother is the prettiest, hippest woman I know both inside and out and she taught me how to be just like her. I'm so grateful to her for who I am today. She's been the pillar of strength for me. I admire her so. She and my father (who I will miss everyday of my life) were strong enough to raise three kids on a tight budget (she was so crafty with everything and so good at it). She taught us how to be strong and yet loving. She taught us how to take care of ourselves and yet take care of others. She led us down a road that she knew would take care of us in the end. She instilled in us good moral values that make me proud of who I am today. Thank you, mom for being there for me everyday of my life no matter how many miles apart we are. Thank you for not judging me, even though you knew what the outcome would be, because you knew I would find my own way. You are my hero, mom and no one will ever take that place.

I am making something special for her....and here's a little hint. She will forever be the light of my life and the light that leads the way for me. I love you mom, with all my heart.

Mom and my new step dad! :) What a cute couple!
I love this song by Good Charlotte. It's called Thank You Mom. I know a guy is singing it but, well, you get the picture. :)
LOVE YOU, MOM!!!!

I am sure your mom is so proud of you! It is great you have such a beautiful mother-daughter bond, you two.

Throughout my teens I always fought to differentiate myself so much from my mom with frequent conflicts, but it is funny as I get older I learn to accept and be grateful for my mom being who she is. Lol.

I'm envious of your relationship with your mom; I love my mom, but I wouldn't call us close. You are both lucky to have each other!

Michelle - great tribute to mom on her 30th birthday! That was a stellar job and super sweet selection of pictures! Wait, you neglected to mention the fact that she produced a world famous physician, gawd... did you not learn ANYthing? :) I was reading and searching (while saying to myself, "It HAS to be here somewhere!") and never saw it! But seriously, that was really sweet, heartfelt, and a very special gift for mom!
