PAWS - For the Love of Cats

Every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. is the same. I wake up after sleeping in, I love my weekends for that very own reason. Another reason I love my weekend is my excitement to help out at the PAWS Animal Shelter here in West Linn. It's a small no-kill cat shelter dedicated to placing many homeless cats and kittens into loving and caring homes. The owner Sharon is an angel to me. To dedicate her life to finding homes to these helpless creatures is so selfless and just wonderful. This weekend she was sick at home and no wonder, she works so much and so hard, not just here but for many other wonderful purposes in her life. Checkout her website. It's cute, she names her cats after celebrities when they come in. The pictures don't seem to be working on the website but I will let Sharon know.

I typically meet two other women there on Sundays, Sheila and Stacie. They are the sweetest two gals to work with. They educated me on everything there is to know when volunteering there. They are so dedicated to taking care of these sweet cats and making sure they are loved and taken care of at the shelter. I am proud to become a part of that family. :) Here are a few pictures of some of the cute little kitties waiting to find forever homes, although they are QUITE happy where they're at :)

This weekend Tami (my friend I had tea with Saturday) and her sister, Michelle came with me to help out! I was so happy! We had about 8 volunteers there this weekend. :)

Aren't these two the cutest. They just love sleeping together.

Hey lady, you and me, your car, closing time. You can take me home and I'll love ya forever. *wink*

This sweet little guy was full of love this weekend.

This is sweet, sweet Sunday. She was hit by a car and left on the road for two days until she was discovered and brought to the shelter. Her back end is mostly paralyzed so she scoots around with her front paws. Despite her disability she is always PURRRRRING....and all she wants is lots of love. She gets a lot of attention from all of us. She's as happy as can be!

Gotta love that face. He's a playful big guy. He fell asleep in my arms last weekend while I was brushing him. :)

Just sleeping or hanging out is what they do.

Oh and eating....

And playing....

And looking cute....

And looking beautiful....

And you can't help but to cuddle them...all of 'em!

Although these guys don't have homes yet, rest assured they are WELL taken care of. Sharon knows exactly who needs special care, at what times, etc.

If you are ever in the area, please stop by and see these cute guys or even adopt one or two or three! :) If you are unable to do that any donation would help these guys. :) I might need another one. :) If you have it in your heart, rescue an animal and they will thank you forever.

xoxo

Michelle, what great company.. they all look too irresistable!! Who could resist any of those faces? We have a shelter in Winthrop, Maine that dedicates itself to only cats and kittens and has one rule...Everyone gets places or they live there forever.. there is no ..you know... all the cats will live a long and happy life. Great job in stepping it up to Voluteer for a cause you believe in..

What a great cause! I love that winking cat. We have 2 cats and 1 dog. They are our family. We adopted our dog and got the cats from a friend who lives in the country. Pets are such a blessing!

I would take some home if I wasn't allergic and if I knew Queen Bitty wouldn't make their life hell. You're so sweet to volunteer every Sunday!

I moved! Come visit me at www.aduckinherpond.com.

Oh these cats are wonderful. I wish I could have more. I believe Tigger is getting her site back! Tonight my sons girlfriend tossed some black socks onto the couch from the dryer and Tigger followed the movement. I had Alicia do it 3times and each time she followed the socks. Then I started to block her path and instead of hitting it straight on she went around! I am praying. Maybe this was temporary....:)

I would have a hard time picking so I would just take one of each. Of course that is why I currently have 12 Cats. 2 of my babies sadly went missing.

Oh I want to thank you for helping make these darling cats lifes a bit happier. People like you are so special.

I help out with dog rescues and I know how many people it takes to take care of one unwanted animal. So that they get a loving home. I wish the day would come that every animal would have a safe and wonderful home.

Hugs,
Joanne

Michelle, these little guys are just too sweet... I cannot even imagine someone hitting a kitty and leaving it laying in the road...And how many people must have driven by that poor baby - for two days? I just love them all... The all black long hair reminds me so much of my handsome boy who I lost a year ago December... What a beautiful shelter. I love shelters that allow kitties to roam free rather than being stacked in cages. It's so much more like a 'home' atmosphere. ... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
