Easter - Part 1

So I wanted to break these posts into several different ones because I think it would just seem to long to post them in one.

Friday I arrived in Orange County and directly went shopping with mom. :) Everything happened perfectly. As I was coming down the escalator, mom was coming in from the parking garage. We waited for my little pink suitcase and it was the first one out! I love it when things happen like that.

Mom took me to lunch straight from the airport to a sweet little place in San Juan Capistrano called Sundried Tomato Cafe. I had THE most delicious chicken breast sandwich I ever had in my life. Of course don't I say that about all the food I like? :)

This sandwich was a honey/cilantro chicken sandwich. I mean can you imagine the flavors that were swirling in my mouth! Oh, if Heaven needs me to cook I would cook these there! ;) My mom had a wonderful beet and goat cheese salad.

Then we took off for some antique shopping. First, I have to tell you it is so funny when my mom and I get together. I swear it's like two blondes together or the blind leading the blind. What makes it fun is that we both laugh at each other and how alike we are. I can joke and say I got my blonde from you, mom! In a matter of five minutes after stopping the car we had already lost the keys. I told my mom she had them, she swore I had them...and we both went digging through our purses and of course, they were in mine. Ha! My mom is first and foremost my wonderful mother who guides me through life but most of all we have become best friends. :)

This is what I bought here. Actually mom bought me these two adorable things (the wooden pig and the tiny lamp) and yes, I took the pig on the plane with me. No, I didn't get a pet carrier for it. :p

Here are a few things I picked up....

And in this adorable shop....

I bought these....

After a few hours of shopping we went back to mom's to rest and get settled in before going out to dinner with my brother and his significant other. Mom's house is so beautiful and she always has little touches that make you feel at home.

I so love her shabby chic chandelier!

The comfy cottage style guest room....

A fresh rose from her rose garden is waiting for me in the room....

And an evening of Japanese food and my wonderful family, just visiting and laughing rounded the whole day off. What more could anyone ask for than the comfort of family and laughter.

Tomorrow, part 2 and the visit with sis, niece and brother-in-law!

Almost sounds too good to be true, but I'm so happy that it is all true, and that you had such an amazingly awesome visit! Lunch sounded yummies... wish I had one of those beet 'n goat cheese salads right now! Your relationship with your dear Mom reminds me of how close my Mom 'n I were... I miss her terribly. Don't you know I wish I'd been shopping with y'all?! Loved seeing your new treasures... I'm especially fond of the Mermaids ♥

Hope you've been enjoying your snuggle-lovin' catch-up time with your precious fur-babies... Looking forward to part 2...
God bless...

Michelle, what a perfect visit home. Isn't it great to go back? I loved visiting my mom and step-dad and she always had wonderful things for me waiting to greet me. I love what you bought. The glitter mermaids are my favorite. Can't wait for the second post. Glad you had a good time going back home!

What a fab name for a restaurant! It must be close to lunch hour because I'm drooling onto my keyboard looking at the photos.

You and your mom are so funny together! I wish I had as much fun with my mom...but that's another story. Cool finds too!

Wow, all I can say is you had a wonderful time and I am so happy for you. That store is beautiful, your mom's house is beautiful. I like how you had your priorities right--you went shopping as soon as you got off the plane... love it! I am glad you got to spend time with your family--and aren't Moms great? I had a great relationship with my mom (she died 6 years ago) and she was such fun to shop with and laugh with. (She always bought me things---I just had to whine a little and she'd treat me--hee-hee.)As long as our parent's are alive, we can get away with acting like a little kid...
