Blonde Moment Alert and Mother's Day Giveaway!

Okay, I swear I am never short on blonde moments and my hair is so black! I don't get it. I know where I got it from though. Mom. I am so proud of mom for passing down this trait to me. Lol!

So, here goes the blonde moment. I got a new laptop today and hooked everything up just fine, so easy peasy and all green lights say GO for connections but my wireless wasn't working! Grrrr! I'm thinking this cannot be happening. I know it's the laptop. I know it! I knew something would go wrong if I bought a new laptop. All my settings would disappear with the wind. Oh no wait, it must be my phone company. Yep! I've had to call them out three times in the past because the modem wasn't working right. So, I make the dreaded call.

Automated Voice from the phone company: In a few words, tell us why you're calling.
Michelle: WIRELESS DOWN (saying as clearly as possible)
Automated Voice: Did you say billing issues?
Michelle: W-I-R-E-L-E-S-S D-O-W-N.
Automated Voice: Okay, I got that. So you're having a problem with your modem.
Michelle: NO! Wireless Down.
Automated Voice: Okay, so you would like to speak to someone in billing.
Michelle: Oh my God.
Automated Voice: So you would like to speak with God?
Michelle: Right. Connect me with God. Maybe he can help me with my wireless. No! My wireless is DOWN!
Automated Voice: So you would like to "get down?" Okay, hold on. I will connect you to the first available representative.

Okay, so FINALLY I am connected and all I am hearing are numbers...numbers, numbers and more numbers. 142 dot 432 dot 637 dot...dot...dot......dot net. On and on this went for an entire hour and we still couldn't get my computer to connect. *sigh*. The poor guy is frustrated trying to figure out why everything is online and working but I still cannot connect to wireless. So, he gives up and gives me the number to Dell to talk to someone there. He says he can connect me but I am so numbered out I tell him to just give me the phone number and I will call later after I rest. *pant, pant, pant*.

So, I decide to take a look at the computer myself. Guess what I realized? MY WIRELESS BUTTON IS TURNED "OFF".

I scare myself sometimes. Lol!

Also everyone! Renee over at The Chateau of Remnants is having an awesome Mother's Day giveaway so swing on over and check it out! She also has such a beautiful blog with her wonderful artsy crafts. :)

Hehehe! Moments like that are "fun"- too many of them for me though! I swear those automated answering calls are manned by a bunch of people all clustered in a room laughing at the poor frustrated hapless callers. I hate them!!! Have a great day!

I think my husband has more blond moments with the computer/electronics than I do. He gets so mad and cussing and frustrated when he can't get something connected or working and I casually reply...did you try.??? and a lot of the time it works. He gets even madder because he is the all wise know it all and I am just a dumb dame...heehe!!

I think we've all done things like that. I know I have, and so has my hubby. Don't you hate how you can't talk to any real people anymore when you call for help! Everything is recordings or use the internet. I've been sort of job hunting for a year and all applications are done online and if you have any ?'s there is noone to talk to. I find it all very frustrating. Call me old-fashion, but I like to talk with a real live person. Sorry, for the rant. Glad you got your new Dell up and running. <3Fairmaiden

So funny! I thought that stuff only happened to me. I called Sears about my washer and dryer issues and kept getting cut off and when I called back I'd get the automated system. After six times
saying washing and dryer, I was fed up and I literally screamed, aaaagh! The system said, you want the auto department? LOL

Oh my goodness, that all sounds like me this week with this new satellite internet!
The anti virus system on here is so weird. It protects you alright..to the point you can't even get on the internet.

Thanks for the visit and comment.
Have a great weekend.

Don't feel bad, when I got my laptop the button(right on the front in plain sight) was turned off and I just new that it was the connection. My husband came out and switched the button for me. Duh! I felt pretty stupid. Live and learn! Enjoy your laptop. I want to be buried with mine!

I got a good laugh over that converstation with the automated system--don't you hate that? Seriously, why can't they hire a human to direct the calls---I guess I'm being naive.

Michelle,

That is way too funny I'm still laughing. I know exactly how you feel although I had the IT guy come to my house. I tried to blame it on my husband but considering he wasn't home at the time I don't think he bought it. It was the most embarrassing two minutes in my life!

Thanks for sharing,
Sharon

I am so glad I am catching up on your blog, or I would have missed this crazy post. I was laughing so hard, hubby had to come find out what was so funny. Of course he cracked up too. I clued him in saying, remember, this is Michelle who sent me Stitching Stella? Stuff like that helps him keep track of how I know who. LOL!
